Advisory Committee

Purpose

The purpose of the members of the Advisory Committee (AC) is to provide mentoring and guide the current management committee (MC) as and when required. They can provide make non-binding suggestions and recommendations to the Management Committee (MC) of the Chapter on matters within the areas of their experience and expertise. The AC’s role shall be purely advisory in nature and the ultimate responsibility for the management of the Chapter’s business shall rest with the MC. AC will consist of members from previous management committees and may involve people of significant influence from the broader community.

Roles and Responsibilities

The role of the AC is to provide strategic insight to promote the Chapter’s growth and members’ well-being. The role of the AC is -

  • To act as a sounding board to the MC
  • Provide objective advice and contribute to strategic plans and value creation.
  • To give fresh insights and views on emerging or unfamiliar issues
  • Help with networking and promoting the Chapter’s presence and its activities.
  • To attend meetings if requested by the current management committee.

Authority

The AC Members are not purported to be the representatives of the Chapter. The AC does not have authority to act on behalf of the Chapter. The AC will only provide non-binding advice. The MC retains full responsibility of the Chapter’s decision making, management of its operational affairs and may consider the AC’s advice as they think fit and act upon it as they deem necessary to do so.
